Antonietta “Toni” Hogan, 84, passed away August 28, 2007. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown.
Toni was born September 28, 1922 to Antonio and Maria DiCristofaro in Giugliano, Italy. She came to the United States in 1946 as a WWII war bride after having married Malcolm Hogan in 1945 and traveling half way around the world. She resided in Des Moines for the past 60 years.
Toni is survived by her daughters, Tina Hogan, Marca Johnson and Susy (Tad) Birditt; brother, Frank (Maria) DiCristofaro; four grandchildren, Lory, Arica, Jeremy and Toni; and two great-grandchildren, Gabrial and Jacob sister-in-law, Geraldine Jackson and her daughter, Kim Fike; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members in the United States and Mimo, Tonino, Maria, Giancarlo, Antonio, Maria Louise, Antonio, Rosaria, Tonino and Gianluca, all residing in Italy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm; her parents; two brothers, Domenico and Giovanni DiCristofaro; sister, Rosa DeLuca; and her husband, Malcolm Hogan.
