Gerald "Jerry" Nelson

Jerry Nelson, 72, died Sunday, August 26, 2007. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Jerry was born December 1, 1934 in Milnor, ND to Henry and Mable Nelson. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and moved to Minnesota and then to Des Moines, where he lived for the last 40 years. Jerry was a member of the American Legion and was a claim adjustor for over 45 years. He enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Kevin (Kim) Nelson, Brian (Kim) Nelson, Shawn (Diane) Nelson, and Jennifer (Rob) Julander; nine grandchildren; and a host of beloved friends.
Memorial contributions may be given the VA Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
