Janet D. Smoger

Janet D. Smoger, 83, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Janet was born October 9, 1930 in Des Moines to Frank and Leila Dockstader. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Smoger; son, Andy (Donna) Johnston; granddaughters, Lynette (Scott) Williamson and Tammy (Bobby) Prough; grandsons, Mike (Brenda) Robinette and Randy (Veda) Robinette; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, Pat Grubb and Mary Lee (Bob) Perkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, son, Rod Smoger; daughter, Marguerite Mehner; parents, and her siblings.

Family will begin greeting friends at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 with funeral service to start at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Animal Rescue League or Taylor House Hospice.
