Linda Kay Moore Cowles Pyle was born July 25, 1939, in rural Iowa, to Howard Arthur and Viola Elizabeth Moore. She passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on Friday, May 16, 2014.
Linda married Francis Cowles in 1957 and raised six sons, Clayton, Edgar, John, Mark, Steven, and Thomas; and daughter, Melissa. She married John Pyle in 1996. Linda worked many years as a nurses aid a job which she loved dearly. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, solving word puzzles, and was a prolific reader.
She is survived by her loving children; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and a granddaughter.
Memorial Service will be held 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in loving memory of Linda.

Was very shocked and dismayed to learn of my cousins passing. Especially, just a day after Uncle Lester's death. Please accept my condolences. I don't know how many of the boys remember bunking at Uncle Don's & Grandma Moore's second floor dormitory. One Memorial Day Weekend, we were wall to wall on the floor as well as on the beds. Funny what memories pop up at these times.

CC, Ed, John, Mark, Steve, Tom, and Missy, I can speak for myself and my Mom, we will miss Linda very much. I have many fond memories of her and you all at the Moore Family Reunions on the Strohbehn Farm. My family, I and my Mom keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you all. So very sorry to hear that one more of our 39 cousins is gone. I remember all you little boys running around having fun at the reunions. My heart goes out to your families. Linda had a very big heart.
