Heidi Hagen
February 15, 2014
Heidi Sue Hagen, 55, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at UnityPoint Health Des Moines Methodist as a result of complications due to her declining health in the final stages of Alzheimer’s.
Heidi was born May 10, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of George and Shirley (Merten) Henderson. She was employed by Principal Financial as an Administrative Assistant. She enjoyed being active outside including walking and riding bikes. She loved to travel with her husband, John, and together they sought out new experiences and adventures. Their favorite destination was Hawaii where they celebrated several wedding anniversaries. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family because family meant everything to her. Heidi never let an opportunity pass to tell loved ones how she felt or to try to brighten someone’s day with a hug or a positive thought. Her smile, laughter and her unconditional love was a force in the lives of the people blessed to be a part of her life and will forever be missed.
Heidi is survived by loving family – husband, A. John Hagen; daughters, Hope M. Hagen and April J. Enos (Charlie); step-son, Nathan D. Glover (Danielle); mother, Shirley Henderson; siblings: Carroll Henderson (Mary), Jody Scott (Donn), Wannette Gale, Terry Henderson (Nancy), Sherry Atkinson (Mike), Jamie Henderson (Dot), and Robin Henderson; grandchildren: Monica Hagen, Austin and Avery Enos and Kaytlin, Bailey and Ethan Glover (stepgrandchildren). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith Ann Hagen; father, George Henderson; father-in-law, Alton W. Hagen; mother-in-law, Edith A. Hagen and sister-in-law, Grace M. Salem.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines.

I just keep picturing her singing in front of Jesus hand in hand with Faith, Grandma Edith and Grandpa, Grandma T, and Marie. All happy to be together again... I can only imagine when that day comes to step from this veil of life and finally be in his Loving Grace into a world we will never have to say goodbye again and we will all be united. She can be herself again and has been fully renewed! Love you all and you are in our hearts and prayers! Love Amy and Larry
