Mary Host

Mary Barbara Host passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Valley View Village at the age of 101.

Mary was born February 2, 1912 in Hocking, Iowa to Frank and Helen Host.

She was a Des Moines area resident for most of her life. She worked in an ordinance plant during the war and as the bookkeeper for Mid-America Dairymen.

Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John, Frank, Wilmer, and Pete Host; and sister, Margaret Host.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street followed by a graveside service at Glendale Cemetery.
