Donna Leslie Myhervold

Donna Leslie Myhervold, 80, passed away on December 24, 2013 at HCI Care Services 56th. Donna left this world just thirteen days after her husband of 63 years, George. She was born October 5, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Carl A. and Ruth (Bartholomew) Colombo.

Donna loved her creator so much she dedicated her life to him as one of Jehovah’s witnesses on February 26, 1955. She served as a regular pioneer for 25 years with the Walnut Creek and Greenwood Congregation’s preaching the good news of God’s kingdom.

She was a talented seamstress, and had been sewing all of her life. Donna enjoyed photography and entered her pictures in the Iowa State Fair on many occasions. She also took classes to learn to speak Spanish. Donna enjoyed traveling with her husband, George, from New York to California, Europe to South America.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Janice (Tracy) Whiting; son, Charles (Melinda) Myhervold; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1385 Buffalo Road in West Des Moines, with inurnment to follow at Jordan Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of DaVita West for the wonderful care and support they gave Donna over the last five years. We also thank HCI Care Services 56th Hospice for making Donna’s last days peaceful.
