Linda Hoffman

Linda Hoffman, 66, passed away December 8, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines due to complications of an illness. She was born December 31, 1946 in Waterloo to Marva and Earl Drew. She was a graduate of East High School and ran an in-home daycare service for over 40 years. She enjoyed crafts, recipes, spending time on the computer, writing to pen pals, and was very supportive of the military. Most of all, she adored her family and friends and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her fiancé, Stan Shoemaker; siblings, Earl “Skip” Drew, Carolyn Drew, and Daryl (Amy) Drew; children, Brenda (Hall) Smalley of Missouri, Carolyn (Rick) Brown of Des Moines, and Kenny Shoemaker of Aplington; grandchildren, Blayze (Bre) McLaughlin and Rachel (David Hill) Smalley of Missouri, and Ricky (Stacey) Brown and Jessie (Kevin) Coe, all of Des Moines; great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Shyloh McLaughlin of Missouri, Haley and Chris Brown of Des Moines, and Brooklyn and Taylor Coe of Des Moines; and numerous other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
