John “Jack” R. Williams, 78, of Las Cruces entered eternal life Monday, August 26, 2013 at La Posada – Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born November 29, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Hugh and Florence Juanita Fox Williams. “Jack”, as he was fondly known to his family and friends, served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.

In Jack’s life, he was a lino type operator, owner/operator of a printing company, supervisor of buildings, grounds, and security at Wesley Acres where he retired in 1996. In his retirement, Jack continued to work as a master carpenter for his own company, aptly named Prosperous Enterprises.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife of 36 years, Sandra L. Williams of the family home; sons, John Richard Williams Jr. (Robin) of Apex, NC, Randall Alan Williams (Diane Lynn) of Mason City, IA, James Glenn Williams (Amber) of Riverside, IA; daughter, Rachelle Renee Buseman (Terry) of Belmond, IA; stepson, Steven Cunningham (Linda) of Pleasant Hill, IA; and stepdaughter, Denise K. Palmer-Wiese of Altoona, IA. Other survivors include fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; aunts, Irma Ingram and Beverly Zulhke; as well as a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kristie Kay Buseman; and brother, Glenn Williams.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at New Life Church 6036 NE 12th Ave., Pleasant Hill, with burial to follow at Powers-Warren Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, in Altoona.
