Judith K. Snedeker, 66, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at UnityPoint Hospice Taylor House.
Judy was born May 27, 1947, to Roy and Helen Blunck in Creston, Iowa. She worked for Iowa Lutheran Hospital and Methodist Medical Center. Judy enjoyed golfing, gardening, and canning. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her cherished granddaughter, Courtney.
Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Donald; son, Eric (Cathy) Snedeker; granddaughter, Courtney; mother, Helen Blunck; siblings, Jean (Dwayne) Davenport, Virginia Rees, JoAnn Trillenger, Bill (Kathi) Blunck, Linda (Larry) Sickels, Nancy (Dave) Stephens, and Donald (Mary K.) Blunck; sister-in-law, Norma (Gene) Rector; brother-in-law, Gerald Cannon; and several nieces, nephews extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Blunck, and her brother, Robert Blunck.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at Benton Cemetery in Benton, Iowa. A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, August 4, 2013, at All In The Family Lounge, 4249 Fleur Drive, Suite 31, in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice Taylor House.

Judy was a wonderful lady. She trained me as a unit clerk, when I first started working for Iowa Lutheran Hospital. She was alot of fun to work with. My prayers go out to her family, just know she is in a better place.

Judy and Nancy were my first golf partners at Rolling Hills we had so many good times. She always made us smile. She will be missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with u Don and your family. Sorry we are in California or we would be there for your family.

Goodness, Judy, I miss you so much. My love to Donnie, and your family. I know as well as I am sitting here that my husband Gary and Marsha's Gene met her at the pearly gates ready for a game of golf, and she's already given them both a piece of her mind - just on principle, and that they both needed it! Wonderful memories forever.

Our sincere condolences to Don, Eric and the Blunck family. Judy was such a great lady and so much fun to be with. When Betty and I first met her at the army buddies reunion, it was like we had known her all our lives. She will certainly be missed by all of us.

So sorry for your loss. Judy was a classmate from kindergarten at Benton School right through graduation with class of '65 at MACHS. We logged many school bus miles together.
