Service Details

Eva Lorraine Stoler, 89, passed away June 21, 2013 at Hospice of Marion County in Ocala, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines, with burial of cremated remains at Glendale Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.

Eva was born August 30, 1923 to Mabel and Hamilton Stoler, Sr. in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was the head of the personnel department at Ford Motor Company for 35 years. At a young age, Eva was ranked thirteenth in the nation in table tennis. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing. She logged over 55,000 hours volunteering at Monroe Regional Medical Center as well as St. Mark’s Thrift Shop. She enjoyed reading, and had so many books that people would come to her house to borrow books from her “library”. Above all, Eva was very dedicated to her family. She always took very good care of her siblings and her nieces and nephews.

Eva is survived by her brother, Hamilton M. (Leona) Stoler, Jr; her nieces: Virginia Valdes and Kathleen Davis; and her nephews: Hamilton Stoler III, Paul Wade, and David Bower. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Virginia Grace and Eloise Spates; and her nephew, Tracy Wade.
