Robert Akers

Robert A. Akers, 70, formerly of Des Moines, died February 1, 2013 of cancer in Tucson, Arizona.

A visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hamilton’s Southtown, with a memorial service to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Robert lived most of his life in Texas. He worked as a roofer and in tree service. He especially enjoyed working on cars as a hobby.

Robert is survived by sisters, Catherine (John) Ponzeline and Nancy Burton (Timothy Williams); brother, Thomas (Lois) Akers; two daughters; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iven and Dorothy Akers and brother, William Akers.
