As I settle back into my "normal" routine...my heart is still very heavy. To think I will not see your face or hear your voice, or better yet, your laugh again, is heart breaking. I know you brought the lightening to us on Tuesday evening, but I also know you brought the rainbow! That is just how you rolled...sometimes the "lightening" scared folks, but never me, because I knew you would always be a rainbow in my life! I love you and will miss you as long as I live! I will...."See You Again".

Today we lay to rest one of the strongest and loving people I was fortunate to know for the past 26 years. I did not know Joan through all her younger years but she was a great Mother to have such wonderful children. I am blessed to have become part of this family. I have so many wonderful memories, talks, laughs, her opinions (sometimes even when I didn't want them :) ) but one things is certain she was always there for us when we needed her either for ourselves or for the boys.I am so happy you were able ot watch the boys grow up and be a huge part of their life. I love you and will miss you dearly.

My beloved Aunt Joan you will truly be missed! You were always the life of the party. Jon, I remember her cheering for you in every sport you played and her curling your hair just perfectly, Jadi, and laughing and every cute thing baby Judi did. She loved you all with such passion. Thank you Uncle Darrell for taking such good care of her. I love you all!

I was lucky enough to get to know the Stapes family about 40 years ago thru baseball. Joan was always one of the most vocal and passionate parents in the crowd. Darrell was calm and collected. Once Joan felt you were part of the family you were good for life. She always told you what was on her mind so you always knew where you stood with her. Jon will recall the time she took us to a an all night movie marathon at the drive-in-that was parental love. And who could forget the victory parties at the Fort. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Stapes family.

What a beautiful picture of Joan... looking just like I will always remember her. I close my eyes and hear "that laugh"! It makes me smile. Her family was always everything to her and you knew that if you knew Joan. Get ready "angels" cuz this lady is gonna show ya how it's done!! God Bless You, Joan Stapes.

But I believe I told you as I got older and wiser YOU WERE ALWAYS RIGHT! thank you for making me the woman I am today and loving me unconditionally.
