Samuel Josef Gudenkauf, infant son of Stephanie and Adam Gudenkauf, became an angel on March 21, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Samuel is survived by his mommy and daddy, Stephanie and Adam; his big brother, Jack; his grandparents: Ray and Barb Baldwin, and Ron and Alice Gudenkauf; and his great grandmother, Rose Cecrle.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday March 27, 2013, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue in Des Moines.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your precious little Samuel Josef. I am so moved by the challenge you have dealt with and filled with respect for your actions. I have been including little Samuel Josef in my prayers since learning of him. He is blessed to have such faith filled parents. You likely know the original Hebrew meaning of 'Samuel' - is 'heard by God'. I will continue to pray for your precious little Samuel and for strength to you and your entire family. With love, Kathleen
