Betty Lou Veik

Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) Veik was born January 27, 1947, to Henry C. Veik and Amelia G. Overman Veik at her parents’ home in Humphrey, Nebraska. She passed away February 9, 2013, at Mosaic Group Home in Des Moines, Iowa.

Betty Lou lived most of her life in Humphrey, Nebraska. In 1997, she moved to Runnells, Iowa, to live with her brother, Delmer, and his wife Marilyn. In 2009, Betty Lou moved to live at Mosaic Group Home in Des Moines.

Betty Lou is survived by brothers, Delmer (Marilyn), Runnells, Iowa, Henry (Joann), David (Marlene), Flavian (Monica), and Lauren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Earl and Floyd; sister Mildred; brother-in-law Cecil Dicken; nieces Dawn Beck and Lanette Welton; and nephew Craig Veik.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 14, at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Humphrey, Nebraska. Visitation will take place at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa, on Monday, February 11, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., and at Duesman’s Chapel in Humphrey, Nebraska, on Wednesday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m.
