Service Details

Audrey M. Roam passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at the Carlisle Care Center. Audrey was born on May 23, 1925, in Des Moines, to Lloyd and Garland (Sickles) Stroburg.

She married Teddy D. Roam in 1942, and together they raised three children. Aubrey opened her home up to child care and over time cared for over 25 children. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, making her annual peanut brittle, and more than anything she loved her family.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral, 5400 SW 9th Street. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 27, at the funeral home.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Janis Roam, five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy, a daughter, Judith McNeeley, and her son, Jack Roam.
