Mary Duree

Mary C.J. Duree, 80, of Madrid went to be with her Lord, December 9, 2012. There will be a celebration service at the Madrid Home, 613 West North Street, at 9 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012.

Mary was a life-long resident of Des Moines, a retired employee of Meredith Corporation, a member of First Federated Church, and a National Race Walker.

Surviving is a daughter, Sharon Ann Metcalf of Boone, and son in law, David; five grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, six sisters, two brothers, and a son-in-law.

Memorials may be made to the Madrid Home or American Cancer Association.

Mary’s body has been donated to the University of Iowa Anatomy Laboratory.
