Laura Jean Nelson, 23, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Laura was born on November 18, 1988, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James and Judy Nelson of rural Mitchellville.
Laura always had a smile on her face and will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her. She is survived by her father and mother; brother, Lucas (Leann) Nelson; sister, Andrea Nelson; grandparents, Daryl & Norma Walker of Bondurant; grandmother, Isabel Nelson of Truro; uncles, Steve (Kim) Walker, Tom (Trena) Walker, all of Winterset, Paul Nelson of Truro, David (Marie) Nelson of Des Moines; and many cousins.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
