Marie Pagitt, 64, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born October 9, 1947, in Geissen, Germany, to Robert and Lina Pagitt.
Marie worked for Look Magazine early in her career, and most recently was employed with Perkins Restaurant as a server. Marie loved with her whole heart and would give until she had nothing left.
Marie is survived by her mother, Lina “Brixie” Pagitt; daughter, Melissa “Missie” (Aaron) McGuire; grandsons, Jordan and Jacob McGuire; and her five sisters, Debbie (Marty) Gipple, Carol (Alan) Cox, Robbin (Warren) Steffen, Lori Pagitt and Arline Pagitt.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 14, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Princess Pagitt.

Went to school with Marie and would run into her at the grocery store or restaurant. Always was excited to talk about her family and how much they meant to her. My prayers are with her family now, always remember how much she loved and treasured you.

I didn't have a farm, and we werent FB friends - but I delighted in every comment made on my sister's walls. You dear were a light on this earth, and I know you are still shining brightly with Jesus!
Prayers of strength are with your family. They will miss you dearly and I hope that when they think of you, the tears that they shed now will quickly turn to a smile.

And some think that Facebook has no merit...Not in this case. I 'met' Marie via my sisters (Marie and Toni) through FB. She always was a delight and often made me smile with her comments. You could also tell that she had a warm and loving family.

Marie was a kind and thoughtful person. I am so glad to have reconnected with her after so many years and even spend a little time and get a hug. Peace and Blessings to the family.

Will so miss my Farmer Friend, she made me giggle and smile everyday. Gave me hope when my Mom passed last year. Bless you Marie.

Marie was such a awesome person. She was there for us all to put smiles on our faces when we needed them the most. I will miss her so much. She reminded me so much of my own mother with her funny wit to her huge heart...I know there is another beautiful angel that has got her wings. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY SO MANY...

Marie will be so missed by all who loved you near and far. You were truly a friend to so many. Even though we never met in person I felt like you were part of my family. When my mom was having her health problems you prayed with my family. When my mom passed away you prayed with my family yet again. You my dear friend were always there for us. I think about you everyday and will miss you and your humor!
