Betty Harrison

Betty Ann Harrison, 68, died Thursday June 7, 2007 at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 12, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Betty was born May 19, 1939 to Andrew M. Helland and Bertha M. McGovick in Van Hook, ND. She graduated from Washington State University and moved to Des Moines in 1975 with her husband, Dennis Harrison. Betty worked as a nurse for Methodist Hospital in the Younkers Rehabilitation Unit.
Betty is survived by her son, Paris Bergler of Portland, OR; daughter, Pam Baker of Des Moines; daughter-in-law, Karen Harrison; sisters, Clarice Jokinen and Larraine Suydam, both of California; brother, Don Helland of Olympia, WA; nephew, Bo Peterson; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Harrison; and son, Leon Harrison.
