Sheri L. Foster Lamp, 62, died Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born June 29, 1949, to Arlyn and Rosemary (Scott) Foster in Des Moines.
Sheri worked as an OB nurse for Broadlawns and Des Moines General for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and playing cards.
Sheri is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Joe) Verdugo and Shelley Lamp; grandchildren, Andy and Nicole Verdugo and Brandon Lamp; sisters, Sandy (Gary) Scholes and Paula (Harlan) Dunaway; step-brothers, Jake (Diana) Guile and Joe (Donna) Guile; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Fred.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions will be received by the family.

I attended high school with Sheri and she was always so much fun to be with. We had lost contact with her over the years and then discovered she was a nurse at Des Moines General. I know she will be truly missed--she was a great gal and you can hopefully take comfort from that and the memories you hold dear.

For some moments in life there are no words. This is truly a time of sadness as a wonderful sister, mother,grandmother and all around great person you could truly count on and laugh with, has now gone to heaven. There is no words that can explain how deeply you will be missed....you touched so many peoples hearts!
I love you Aunt Sheri you are gone but not forgotten!

I can hardly believe she is gone. What a true friend and wonderful nurse. She really made the time on the OB floor fun. She was a part of a great team there and will be truly missed. God Bless Sheri and her family.
