Service Details
Berenice D. Manno, 90, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be held 10 am, Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at St. Theresa’s Parish, 1230 Merle Hay Road. Visitation will be Monday night from 6-8 pm, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway.
Born on June 12, 1921, Berenice was the daughter of John and Anna Hennessy. Berenice was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish and the Catholic Women’s League. She was retired from the U.S. postal service.
Berenice is survived by two sons, Michael (Luanne) Manno and Mark (Cathy) Manno; and numerous brothers and sisters in the Philadelphia area. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Stringer and her second husband, Peter J. Manno.

On behalf of the Kuneck family - her sister, Peggy, her three nieces, Maureen, Margaret Mary, and Jeanette, and their husbands, Rowland, Buz, and Thomas, we want to send our love and prayers to the Manno family. We all loved our "Aunt Bernice". Whenever she came East to see her sisters, we would make certain that some of us travelled to Peggy's home to share good times with someone who always made us laugh. She had such a good eye for what was good, clean fun. Maureen's and my children, Jason and Kirsten, loved her too and wanted to be called her "grand niece and nephew".
Her sister, Peggy Kuneck, has a special place in her heart for Bernice. Whenever Bernice "came on to New Jersey" (Peggy's words), all of Peggy's children knew that special meals would be prepared for her and that a good time with great food and drinks around the table could be had. The talk around the table would often be memories of times spent at the beach with the nieces and nephews of her sisters.
Aunt Bernice will always be remembered in our family as a very positive, proud woman who loved her sons and spoke with pride about them and cared so deeply for her brothers and sisters. The Hennessy/Kuneck portion of Bernice's extended family sends their love to the Manno family. We give thanks that you shared her so willingly with us for so many years. We pray that a loving God with take her gently into HIs arms.
