John Howard “Jack” Powell, 51, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was born May 17, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Earl and Mary (Harban) Powell.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline and Michaela; brother, E.J. (Bonnie) Powell; and sisters, Mabel (Ted) Fisher and Gladys Busick. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Andy Powell.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 12, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family in loving memory of Jack.

Jack, was along time friend. He was one of the kindest men I know. He would make me laugh when I wanted to cry. He had such a great love and pride for his 2 beautiful daughters. He always had such a great love for his family and friends. Jack will be greatly missed by many....God Bless you lovely girls and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. R.I.P. Bear....
