Mary P. Myer

Mary Pauline Myer, 87, passed away at her home Wednesday, February 8, 2012. A private family burial will take place at McCormick Cemetery in Highland Center, Iowa, at a later date.

Mary was born September 14, 1924, in Chug Water, Wyoming, to Charles and Mildred Bacon. She was a rural school teacher prior to moving to Des Moines in 1958. Once in Des Moines, Mary worked for Hopkins Sporting Goods for 11 years, and retired from Dahl’s after eight years of service.

Mary is survived by her son, Mark Myer; daughter, Charlene Hansen; sister, Margaret Sharp; brother, Miles Bacon; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederic Myer and son, Frederic II.
