Harold E. Freeborn, 80, died November 14, 2011. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, IA.
Harold was born May 24, 1931 in Unionville, MO, to William and Flossie Freeborn. He worked for John Deere for 30 years and operated as a car dealer. He served our country proudly in the United States Navy and was a member of the ZaGaZig Shrine Bag Pipes Band.
He is survived by his daughter, Pati Strickler; granddaughters, Jenifer Tinlin, Trista (Bill) Barbaglia, Courtney Meadows-West; great-grandchildren, Abigail Tinlin and Jaxson Barbaglia; sister, Flossie Milner; brother-in-law, Don Rider and several nieces and nephews.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie Meadows-West; great-grandson, William David Barbaglia; and brothers, Roger, Walter, Lawrence and Guy.

I was a friend of Debbie Meadows-West in junior high and high school. I have been trying to find her and was shocked to see that she had preceded her father in death.

You were a wonderful grandfather to Jenifer and great grandfather to Abigail. You were a good friend to all who knew you. You always went out of your way to help when needed. Seeing you at school functions and recitals, and sharing birthday lunches will be remembered. You will be missed. May God Bless you.

Thank the Lord he is out of pain. Blessings to all who have helped in any way over the years during his fight with this horrible disease.
Harold you were a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend to all you met. Rest in peace.
