Emi Yanagi

Emi Yanagi, 47, of West Des Moines, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 21, 2011. Emi was born in China on November 24, 1963. She had a PhD in Computer Engineering and worked at John Deere.

Emi’s pride and joy was her son, Takashi, a senior at Valley High School. She was devoted as a mom to raising a young man of character, faith and encouraged him to reach his academic potential. In these things Emi had a sense of accomplishment before she went home. Emi is also survived by her sister, Haidong Gu, and her father in China.

Everyone is extremely grateful and blessed by the love and care that her special friend John Zhang showed through health and illness.

Visitation will be at Westchester Evangelical Free Church on Sunday, October 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be at Westchester on Monday, October 24 at 10 a.m.
