Amy LaPrei, 36, went to be with Jesus, October 7, 2011.
Amy was born June 28th, 1975 to Paul and Sue Dennis. She graduated from Southeast Polk in 1994.
Amy’s greatest joys in life were her children. Amy had a special knack for making people laugh with her unique sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her.
Amy is survived by her children, Noah and Mia; parents Paul and Sue Dennis; siblings, Jill, Jon, and Joey; grandparents, Gladys Dennis & Charles & Joyce Taylor. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ginger Taylor, and uncle, Corky Taylor.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1701 8th St. SW in Altoona. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7, prior to the service.
A memorial fund has been established at Bank Iowa in honor of Amy.

I pray for your family. My sister, Katie had been friends with Amy since Jr. High. I was always amazed at how naturally beautiful Amy was. You could look at her and see she was pretty. But,once you knew her you realized the beauty radiated from the inside. Bless Amy's family for their strength, patience, and perserverance. Time will pass faster than the pain for all who loved her. Remember Amy when you see her Mom and Dad, or brothers and sister and especially her beloved children. Let them know the true Amy. Share a story or a hug with them. Tell her children how proud her Mom would be of them and speak her name, often. Amy was a fire-cracker with a heart of gold and will always be remembered and treasured. I am thankful I was lucky enough to know her. There is peace in knowing she is with our Lord. No suffering, no sorrow, no tears. She is safe at home. The circle will not be broken.

Sue and Paul - Our thoughts and prays are with you and your family during this difficult time. My boys have such fond memories of their years at your house. Going swimming, on bike rides, and at this time of year, to the pumpkin patch with you, Amy, Jill, Shady and Noah. Amy will be missed. When I think of Amy, a smile comes to my face. She made me laugh, like no other and we shared countless memories together. I am beyond blessed, that she was a part of my life growing up. She was most definitely one of the best friends I have ever had. Her unique personality and sense of humor will be FOREVER in my heart. She was truly, one of a kind. I am Corey Gipson's mother and wanted to express to you how very sorry I am for your loss. I have fond memories of Amy and Noah both. Amy and Corey had adopted a black cat(Tom)from Animal Rescue for Noah. I have Tom still. He has brought me much joy over the years, and I've often thought of Amy and Noah because of his funny antics. I will keep you in my prayers and remember Amy always with love.

I am so heartbroken over Amy's death. Not a moment goes by that I haven't thought of her since I heard the news. Even though we grew apart over the years, I have alot of GREAT memories with her from our apartment days to all of our weddings to the birth of Noah. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers and Amy will be in my heart forever.
