Daniel William Horrigan, 77, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA. He was born May 17, 1934, in Des Moines, IA to Jack and Ernestine (Smith) Horrigan.
He was a lifetime member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union #33.
Dan is survived by his wife, Susan Horrigan; children, Judy Clark, John (Cheryl) Horrigan, Teri Pszanka, Kevin (Melissa) Horrigan, Lyndsay (Jon) Baker, and Mike (Gina) Horrigan; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. A private family burial will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston in loving memory of Dan.

Dan was a wonderful man. He spent a great deal of time at my grandparents home, Paul and Helen's, when I was young kid. He was great to be around and was very supportive to my parents. I remember him talking plumbing with Grandpa.
My prayers are with the family.
