Jennifer Itzel Garcia, 17, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011, from injuries sustained in a tragic car accident.
Jennifer was born July 16, 1994, to Enedina Macias and Jorge Garcia in Des Moines. She was a senior at Lincoln High School. Jennifer was a happy, outgoing person who loved having fun with her friends and family. She loved listening to Spanish music “Corridos,” going to dances and chatting on the computer with her friends.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Sarahi Macias; brothers, Kevin Vizcarra and Christopher Garcia; grandparents, Ignacio Garcia and Maria Castillo; aunts, Martina Garcia and Laura Macias; uncle, Leonel Macias; cousins, Nephtaly Zambrano, Aldo A. Zambrano, Brittany C. Macias, Michelle A. Macias, Leonel Macias, and many others; and her many beloved friends and classmates. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elvira Soto; grandfather, Calletano Macias and her sister, Brianda Garcia.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Jennifer.

We wish to express our deepest sympathies to your family during this very difficult time. We too lost our 17 year old son to a red light runner, in May of 2009. Even though time dulls the pain, you'll never be the same. Expressions of love from our church family, a constant awareness of God's presence and blessings, and knowing we will see him again someday has gotten us through these past 27 months.

i was a very good friend of jenny's she was a good friend and will be dearly missed, im very sorry for your loss. hope your family is doing okay. i will miss her very much.
