Gina Northway, 53, passed away August 19, 2011, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Gina was born April 24, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Jerry and Wilma Thompson.
Gina is survived by her husband, Rick; children, Andrew (Katie), Adam (Laticia) and Kaila (Danny); her sisters, Teresa (Bud) Kieffer, Mary Jo (Don) Howard and Janice Thompson; grandchildren, Katelin and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her father.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Hospice.

George and I were very sorry to learn of Gina's passing. Gina helped us buy our first home almost nine years ago (where we are still very happy). She was very patient with us as first-time homebuyers and made the entire process enjoyable. Just from our short time with her, I'm sure she was an amazing wife, mom and grandma and I know she will be missed. May her spirit always be with you and comfort you.

I feel so blessed to have known you! I was so excited every day I knew you were coming into the office. Your smile, your whit, humor kept me smiling long after you left/until your next visit. You made me feel loved. I cannot believe I will not see you again. But I will, in my memories, one of the finest women I have ever met. My deepest condolences to the family of this wonderful woman! Peace be with you, Miss Gina! You will so deeply be missed!

Our family is so sorry for your loss. 8 years ago, we had the pleasure of spending many months with Gina as she helped us find our first home. It took time, but when she found it, she made sure we were the first ones in, the first offer, and was amazingly pushy in ways we had never seen her demonstrate before during the negotiations. Our young daughter was often with us, and Gina gave her a stuffed kitten on the day we closed, which she still has now. We are still in our home, and have 4 kids now, and we are thankful for the brief but meaningful impact she had on our lives.

Rick,
I am truly sorry for your loss. As I am sure you know, the older we get, the people that we grew up with become more special. I have always felt that she and "the sisters" were family. I know that you loved her very much and she has told me about how lucky she was to have you.
When I talked to her earlier this month, she sounded weak but I had no idea how sick she was. Of course, that was her. She would never admit it. She was truly "one of a kind" and I feel blessed to have had her be a part of my life. I am better for it.
Know that I am there with yall in mind and sprit and I pray that God will be with you and the family.

Dear Rick and Family, I just learned of your tremendous loss of Gina and my heart is breaking right along with yours!! Gina was an amazing woman that I looked forward to seeing her contagoius smile and enjoying her wonderful sense of humor, from homeroom mothers to the best and loudest cheerleaders at the boys little league games, to just standing in the grocery store and visiting for an hour!! I will treasure all of my memories of you!! God be with all of you and I know Gina is an Angel above sending down her strength to you right now. The whole Riley family was lucky enough to have known Gina and her always generous and loving ways, like running the kids around all the time from here to China!!! I don't know how she did it and still kept her sanity and a smile, like I said, " Gina is an amazing woman, friend, mother, wife,grandmother, the list could go on forever!!!" Thank you God for giving us the privilege of having Gina Northway in our lives.

We were so so sorry to hear this sad news from Jeremy.To Andy and Kaila I just want you to know that I spent a lot of time with your mom when she was selling Jeremy's house and I thought of her as my friend.We spoke of you two as well as my kids.She loved you both so much thru the good times and the bad times.She will be missed by many..God Bless your family as you start this journey of grief.Once again we are so sorry....

My deepest and sincerest sympathies to the family of Gina. Though I regret not ever meeting her and getting to know her, I have heard much praise about her from fellow Realtors. Gina will be truly missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones. God bless you Gina, RIP.
