Kathryn E. Wright

Kathryn Emma Wright, 86, died Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 21, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday.

Kathryn was born March 13, 1925, in Clive, the daughter of Jennie (Rumbaugh) and August Burow, and the sister of Marion Stovich, William Burow and Ethel Lucas. She graduated from Valley High School. Kathryn will be remembered as a hardworking and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She loved having all her family around her, taking many vacations together; trapping, fishing and memorable trips to Alaska where they all enjoyed fishing and sightseeing.

The Wright home was known as the “drop in” restaurant where family and friends could stop by the house any day, every day of the week, for a fantastic noon meal.

Kathryn is survived by her children, Chris (Becky) Wright, Christine (Darrell) Lawrence, August (Linda) Wright; grandchildren, Eric (Kristy) Lawrence, Aaron (Tina) Lawrence, Jennie (Adam) Zimmerman, Sarah (Steve) Hovey, Jared Wright, Tyler (Jenalee) Wright and Molly Wright; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Madeline, Jessica, Dallas, Chelsey, Auriel, Dylan, Adabelle, Seven and Amaya and one great-great-grandchild, Gracie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior, in 2010.
