Evelyn Mae Gerhart

Evelyn Mae Gerhart Malmgren, 85, of Henderson NV, passed away from lung cancer, Friday, July 29, 2011, at Nathan Adelson Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born May 11, 1926, to Herman Lucas Langstraat and Anna Brom in Pella, Iowa. Her loving husband, Charles William Gerhart, of over 50 years, preceded her in death on July 26, 1997. Evelyn and Charles resided in Des Moines, IA, until 1976 when Evelyn retired from Parker Brothers Games as an assembler; then they moved to San Diego, CA; and in 1989, to Las Vegas, NV.

Evelyn is survived by her three children and their spouses, William Charles Gerhart (Davelyn) of Parker, CO, Robert Lee Gerhart (Julie) of Purcell, OK, Sheryl Ann Thompson (Scott) of Broomfield, CO; step daughter, Barbara Shelton of Wythville, VA; husband, Rodney Everett Malmgren; three step children, Rudy Malmgren, Frank Malmgren, and Ruth Ann Baumann; three siblings, sister, Ruth Lawrenz, and brothers Ernest Langstraat and Elmer Langstraat; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn and Rodney attended Green Valley Baptist Church in Henderson, NV.
