Edith Irene Cadwell

Edith Irene Cadwell, 93, passed away July 18, 2011, at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone.

Edith was born March 4, 1918, in Grant Township, Boone County, to Erik and Judith Johnson. She grew up in Boxholm, Iowa and lived most of her adult life in the Des Moines area. Edith retired from Younkers in 1983, where she was a department supervisor for over 20 years. She was an active member of Capitol Hill Lutheran Church. Edith enjoyed playing cards, needlework and gardening.

Edith is survived by her grandchildren, Spencer Cadwell and Irene Cadwell; nephews, Kevin Miles and Erik (Patty) Miles; nieces, Krisha Barrett and Judy Lyons; and many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; son, John Cadwell; daughter Mary Cadwell; and her sisters, Vera Karls, Maxine Schwisow and Letty Miles

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011, at Capitol Hill Lutheran Church, 511 Des Moines Street, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church in loving memory of Edith.
