Kathryn Cory

Kathryn Cory, 72, died Monday, July 19, 2011, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. She was born October 8, 1938, in Farrar, Iowa, the daughter of Jay and Helen (Barton) Cory.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Kathryn enjoyed fishing, camping, being outdoors, boating, and spending time with her friends from Casey’s. She also found joy in caring for her family and friends.
Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Kathryn “Kay” Parkhurst; sisters, Mary (Dick) Wilson and Blanche Wright; brother, Glen W. (Fran) Barton-Cory; granddaughter, Lindze Erin (Travis) Bear; and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Paul, and brother, Paul.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 216 N. Washington Ave., Elkhart, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Farrar. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 20, at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Kathryn Cory.

Katherine you were the sweetest mom in the world, you was like a second mom to me, always understanding, and never judged people , you will be greatly missed and you were and still are very much loved. God now has a true angel in his keeping..

Kath, you were a true friend..one that always had my back. We became even closer during your illness and we made some big plans (the fair on scooters) for this summer. I will miss our heart to heart talks.

So sorry to hear about our dear Kathy, she was everyone's best friend here at Casey's, and is truely missed by everyone.
