James “Richard” Cochrane, 81, passed away July 7, 2011, at his home, with his loved ones by his side.
Richard was born October 5, 1929, in Seymour, Iowa, the eldest son of seven children. He proudly served his country in the Korean War. Richard was a supervisor of operations for Rock Island Motor Transit Co. from 1952 until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the American Legion and Grace Church.
Richard is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Elma Cochrane; sisters, Rosilea and Marilea Cochrane, June Phipps and Joyce Kinsey; and his brothers, Boyd and Frank “Doyle” Cochrane.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Salem Cemetery in Exline, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
