Barbara Jean Morrey Barbara Jean Johnson was born on July 30th, 1929 to Harriett and Theodore Johnson and went to her Eternal Home on September 11, 2017 at the age of 88.

Visitation will be Friday, 9-15-17 from 5:30 p.m to 7:00 p.m. and the Home going Celebration will be Saturday, 9-16-17 at 10:00 a.m. Both will be held at Creekside Church, 2743 82nd Place, Urbandale, IA, north of Hickman Road.

Barb attended Central Gospel Chapel, now Creekside Church, which taught her early on to have faith in God through all of life. Her actions spoke louder than words as she regularly showed the love of Jesus to each person she met. After graduating from East High School, Barb attended Emmaus Bible College in the Chicago area and married Jack Morrey in 1952. When returning to Des Moines, Barb became involved in Child Evangelism, Good News Clubs and children's Bible Studies all around town, many know of her delicious roast beef dinners and chocolate cake with homemade fudge frosting. She loved being a sister, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Lee Johnson, Ted Johnson, Dale Johnson, John Geigley, and Veronica Johnston. She is survived by her sister and best friend Pat Griffin (Dean), daughters, Harriett "Hedy" Woolwine (Tom), Heidi Smith (Dirk), grandchildren Katie Briggs (Andy), Erin Jandebeur (Chris), Amy Kellogg (Aaron), Noah Smith (Michelle) and Matt Smith and great grandsons Colby & Cooper Briggs and Daniel & Benjamin Jandebeur as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to UnityPoint Hospice for all their warmth and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Team Expansion, c/o Lou Ann Meyer, 2823 S 165th Ave., Omaha, NE 68130.
