Mary Evelyn Willson
November 03, 2010
Mary Evelyn Willson was born December 30, 1931 in Weldon, Iowa to Charles W. and Bernice L. (Butler) Delk. She passed away November 3, 2010, at Granger Nursing Home in Granger, Iowa.
Mary graduated from North High School in 1950. She married Parker Willson on January 20, 1957; they had three children. Mary was a district secretary for Radio Shack for almost 20 years. She enjoyed watching football, boating, and fishing. She devoted herself to her family and friends and would do anything for them, especially her “perfect” grandkids and great-grandkids. “Spoiling them was her right as a grandma,” she said.
She is survived by her husband, Parker; her children, Donna (Dale) Howard of Clive, Debbie (Rick) Haeckel of Des Moines, and David Willson of Des Moines; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brothers, Edwin (Barbara) Delk, Richard (Joyce) Delk, and James (Grace) Delk; her sister, Marjorie (Shelby) Stephens; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law; two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, November 6, 2010, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice in loving memory of Mary.

Parker and family, I cared for Mary and Granger and thought she was one of the strongest women I knew. I would always joke with her about the Vikings and Steelers she loved it.She would talk about her family and grandchildren she was very proud. She will be greatly missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I will miss Mary and our lunches together very much. She was a joy to work with at Radio Shack and we became good friends after that. Even though our contact grew less over the past years, she has always been in my thoughts. We never miss a holiday or birthday to check in!
It was my pleasure knowing Mary.
