Karen Anne Huber Mellody

Karen Anne Huber Mellody died at age 57 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on February 23, 2021. She was born January 1, 1964 in York, PA to James and Kristina Huber.

Surviving are her parents James and Kristina Huber, her brothers Brian (Melinda) of Germantown Hills, IL and Peter (Kristine) of Roscoe, IL and her son Jared of Flora, IL.

She was baptized at Christ Church in York, PA February 23, 1964 and confirmed at St Marks, Washington, IL.

Karen attended school in Dover, PA and Washington, IL. She was active in marching band. She graduated from Bradley, University and later earned her master's degree in nursing from Illinois State University. While in school she worked as an assistant at Washington Christian Village, as a nurse at OSF Peoria and at a pain management clinic in Des Moines, IA.

She was married to Bruce Mellody and later divorced. She found a companion Mike Holtz enjoying years together.
