Judith Rooney

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Lincoln Cemetery in Granger. A celebration of life will be held at a later date due to COVID.

Judith Rooney, 78, passed away on January 20, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center-West Lakes, in West Des Moines. She was born in Freemont County, Iowa on January 22, 1942, the daughter of Ralph and Darlene Younts.

Judith enjoyed reading, gardening and feeding birds. She loved to travel and always had a smile on her face. Judith married the love of her life Ron on January 8, 1977 and they shared 44 years together. She was the family rock, always putting them number one in her life.

Judith is survived by her husband, Ron Rooney; children, Doug Rooney, Jim Rooney, Lisa Rooney, Steve Rooney, Scott Rooney, Ryan Rooney, and Tim Duquette; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grand-children; siblings, David Younts, Alan Younts, and Debbie Blevins. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Rooney; brother and sister-in-law, Marshall (Evalee) Younts.

I was so shocked to hear this. Judy was so much fun and such a hard worker. she loved her family and i feel blessed to have known her. Ron i am thinking of you and your family. She was a gem.
