Kay Rockwell, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center. Kay was born the daughter of Joseph and Wilma Harvey on February 9, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kay attended North High School in Des Moines. In her early years, she was a member of bowling leagues, enjoyed camping, fishing, listening to country music and square dancing. Above all else, Kay cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Wayne; daughters, Donna (Bill) Bennum and Carol Huntoon; step-daughters, Karla (John Layland) Rockwell and Denise (Carl) Espinoza; step-son, Robert Rockwell; one sister, Georgia “Toots”; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; first husband, Chester Stroud; and her daughters, Kathleen Terrell and Teresa McCue.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2021 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona. Gravesides service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 19th at Berwick Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children in memory of Kay.
