Glen Weaver, 72, died of Covid on November 27, 2020 at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Des Moines on December 20, 1947 to John and Helen Weaver. He grew up in Norwoodville, Iowa. He graduated from Saydel in 1967. He was certified in Tool and Die at DMACC. He served in the Army from 1969-70. He retired from John Deere in 2007. He had a video business for a few years which he enjoyed. He was involved with his children and their activities and sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family, many friends and his cats Stormy and Giovanni. He loved driving his Chrysler Sebring convertible. He enjoyed camping with his friends at Prairie Flower at Saylorville. His favorite thing to do was to talk. He didn’t know a stranger. He loved talking to family and friends and telling his stories. He looked forward to taking yearly trips to Arizona in the winter.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of 49 years, daughter Missy, Rick Burns who was like a brother to him, mother-in-law Angie Alexander, sister-in-law Kris Bush, brother-in-law Roscoe (Channy) Alexander, brother-in-law Steve Bush, nephew Jarrod Bush, niece Jennifer Alexander, and special cousin Rusty Knouf. He was preceded in death by his son Glen Jr., his parents, brother David and niece Rachel Bush. We would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and other hospital personnel at Mercy for taking care of Glen and being there for him. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hope Lutheran Church where he was a member.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Hope Lutheran Church, 3857 E 42nd Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a luncheon. Burial will take place at Berwick Cemetery.
