Merlin Hall Lee

Merlin Hall Lee, 94, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2020. Private burial will be at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel.

Merlin was born on September 17, 1926 in Des Moines, IA to Gladys (Newman) and Eugene Lee. He served in the US Army and later earned his Bachelor’s degree from Drake University. He worked in human resources throughout his career. On March 11, 1989, Merlin married Elmerna (Minden) Schramm. In their retirement, Merlin and Elmerna taught English as a second language for 9 months in Japan and for 15 years in Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife, Elmerna Lee; sons, Bradley (Julie) Lee of Tennessee and Eugene (Mary) Lee of Arizona; by Elmerna’s children; and many grandchildren. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Marge.
