Virginia L. Rinard

Virginia Louise Rinard, age 85, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill.

Virginia was born December 7, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Wilbur and Ruth (Bosley) Payne. She was a homemaker and took pride in caring for her home and family. Virginia was a strong-willed person and when she set her mind to something, it was unwavering. She was an avid country music fan and enjoyed shopping for anything brightly colored or sequined. She had an extensive doll collection and loved her little dachshund, Piper.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Mitch) Pendleton; grandsons, Dave Sloan (Maddie Noble) and Jackson Chandler; great-grandson, Gabriel Sloan; brother, Ed (Linda) Payne; nieces, Allison (Chevas) Mingo and Sarah Payne; and great-nephews, Drake and Joshua Mingo.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Rinard; daughter, Delila Chandler; grandson, Christopher Chandler; and her parents, Wilbur and Ruth Payne.

There will be a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2020 at Pleasant Hill Free Church, 4555 Parkridge Avenue, Pleasant Hill, IA 50327 followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
