Richard Collins, 50, passed away July 28, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Richard was born May 21, 1970 to Sandra Collins. He spent the last 23 years of his life as a quadriplegic due to a boating accident that took place in July of 1997. He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, television, and gaming.

Richard is survived by his step-dad, Richard (Jan) McClelland; brother, Chuck (Holly) Collins; aunts, Peggy Guthrie and Sherry (Don) Lovett; uncle, Stan (Mary) Guthrie; and nephews, Chaz (Megan) Collins and Trevor Collins.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Sandra Collins; grandparents, Kenneth and Lois Guthrie; and uncle, Steve Guthrie

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Ramada Des Moines Airport, 1810 Army Post Road, Des Moines, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the National Stem Cell Research or another charity of your choice in loving memory of Richard.
