Stanley C. Doud

Stanley C. Doud, age 86, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday, May 29, 2020.

Stan was born April 26, 1934 to Claude and Marjorie Doud in Marshalltown, Iowa. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Air Plane Tech. He worked for Massey Ferguson, The Des Moines Airport, and finally for 15 years as a security guard for Century Link until his retirement.

Music was his passion. He loved country music and played the guitar, banjo, and mandolin. Stan loved playing music with his family and friends. He also had a passion for growing tomatoes. He was a very caring, big-hearted, outgoing man who will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sheryl; children, Michael Richard Blodgett (Janet), Rick Joe Blodgett (Patti Wills), Deb McCoy-Jurkowski (Ron); grandchildren, Lacey (Dennis), Jacob, Katelyn; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Jaxen; sister, Judy McCoy; and many extended family and friends.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Marjorie Doud; son, David Blodgett; and brother-in-law, Mick McCoy.

Stan’s wishes were to be cremated and there will be no services held at this time. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
