Maxine L. Fulton, 87, passed away May 2, 2020 at Glen Oaks Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Urbandale.

She was born May 29, 1932 to Raymond and Clara (Hager) Hoadley in Adair County, Iowa. Maxine married William (Bill) Fulton April 26, 1951 in Greenfield, Iowa.

She was an active member of West Des Moines Christian Church, serving on numerous committees and singing in the choir. She was artistic and enjoyed all crafts. When Maxine retired from EMC as an underwriter after 40 years in the insurance business, she took painting classes and started a business called Grandma’s Corner to sell her work. Her hobbies also included playing the piano, gardening, knitting, and writing poetry, as well as serving as a trustee for a non-profit international organization. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Maxine and Bill loved to camp and travel, which led to them becoming “winter Texans” where they formed many friendships.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Joni (Ron) McRoberts; son, Craig (Lynn) Fulton; sister, Margie Reasland; sisters-in-law, Mary and Irma Hoadley; grandchildren, Kristen (Matthew) Langley, Brian McRoberts, Michael (LeeAnn) Fulton, Nicholas (Shauna) Fulton, Billy Fulton, and Matt Fulton; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Theodore, Evelynn, Lila, Kennedy, Jack, Caleb, and Gavin; and a host of friends.
