Diane Kay Herselius

Diane Kay Herselius, 70, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Iowa Methodist Hospital. She is survived by her mother, Twyla Johnson; her sons, Christopher Weber and Jeremy Herselius; grandchildren, Jaxson, Tatum and Logan; her siblings, Russell (Charlene) Johnson and Denise (Tim) Gerdis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Johnson.

Diane was born on March 7, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was active with the Campfire Girls until her graduation from Lincoln High School in 1969. Later, Diane purchased a home at Diamond Head Lake near her parents. There she raised her two sons who attended the West Central Valley schools. After they graduated, Diane moved to the Des Moines metro area and started a career with the West Des Moines school system. She worked there until her retirement in 2013 from Indian Hills Jr. High.

Diane was a hard-working single Mom and treasured spending time with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed collecting Elvis memorabilia, Barbie’s and Precious Moments.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
