Dennis L. Marchael

Dennis Lee Marchael, 82, passed away March 23, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born May 5, 1937, the son of Carl and Lucille Marchael.

Dennis was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from John Deere after 38 years as a Design Engineer.

Dennis will be remembered as a dedicated family man. He was not only involved with his children’s events, including coaching softball for his daughter’s team, but was also active in his grandchildren’s numerous activities.

In his younger years, he loved building and flying remote airplanes. Dennis liked to stay busy by completing home projects and maintaining an immaculate yard. He also enjoyed his monthly lunch gatherings with dear friends and coworkers.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley; daughters, Lorrie Marchael, Lisa Cooper, and Cindy (Pat) Suther; grandchildren, Jacob (Katie) Suther, Tiffany (Allan) Drone, Brian (Jaime) Suther, Tyler Suther, Cassie Suther, and Mandy Cooper. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard and his parents.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
