Cheryl (Moon) Newlin

Cheryl Ann (Moon) Newlin born October 12, 1951, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2020.

She was a woman of many colors who loved to bake, fish, read, and most of all quilt. Some would say she was the most colorful person of the family. Cheryl was a loving wife, mom, Grammy, GiGi, and best friend/confidant to many.

Cheryl leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Bill; her favorite daughter, Margaret; her favorite son, William (Desiree); one granddaughter, Savannah; two grandsons, Nathan and Connor; a great-grandson, Zeke, and a great-granddaughter, Charlie; many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.

She can be found “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” dancing with her loved ones who have been waiting for her arrival.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a cause close to her heart.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
