Skylar Lee Faust was born in Mason City, Iowa on November 30, 1992, and went home to be with His Lord and Savior on November 26th, 2019.
Sky grew up in Iowa and graduated in 2012 from Southeast Polk High School in Des Moines. Sky loved animals and spending time with family and friends. His professional life the last seven years were spent using his talents and creativity as General Manager at Milroy’s Tuxedos in Des Moines. Sky was active in sponsoring many galas, the Black & Blue Ball and Make-A-Wish Foundation. His dream was to own a small ranch on the outskirts of the city where he would foster and take care of chickens, dogs, goats, a cow and a couple of alpacas.
To know Skylar was to be loved and cared for completely and honestly. His laugh was infectious and his smile was like no other. Skylar had so many friends; he loved visiting South Carolina to stay with his family and spend time on the beach. Skylar always told his mom that he was her 3rd nugget, but really he was her golden star and still is.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mom & step-dad, K’Lee and Colin Latham of Bluffton, SC; father & step-mom, Peter and Nikki Faust of Clear Lake, IA; brothers, Danny (Shannon) Faust of Fort Collins, CO, and Charles James Faust of Clear Lake, IA; sisters, Karisa (Dan) Gustafson of Grass Lake, MI, and Sky’s special little sister, Rose of Bluffton, SC; grandfather, Ray Faust of Clear Lake, IA; and Skylar’s partner, Rigo Perez of Des Moines, IA.
Skylar was preceded in death by his biological father, Tony Villela; grandparents, Don and Betty Nelson and his grandmother, Iris Faust.
John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
A special thanks to the excellent care given to Skylar in the last month from University of Nebraska & Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
A Celebration of Skylar’s Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, with visitation of friends and family prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family in memory of Skylar.

Well son today is the day I gave birth to you and 27 years later is the day you are laid to rest. I am just beyond words!!
I loved you the day you were born and every single day since!!
You got your wing son.. you were taken way to early. Enjoy being with your dad and grandpa Antonio. Grandpa passed away before you were born.

Skylar, I am so lost for words about your passing!! I wish we could have met up and I got to see you but its to late for that now!!
Skylar you were my first born son and the only kid of your dads. You were a very special little man and very smart!! I so remember bringing you home from the hospital thinking he is all mine!! I loved you beyond words. You were my little side kick, you were always right there beside me no matter where I was at. Mamas little man!! You were Tonys pride and joy also!!
Its so hard to believe that you are gone at such a young age!! Im supposed to be gone before you!!
I know you lived a great life and Im greatful for that!! Im glad you were very close to your sister Rose!!
You are in Gods hands now with your dad Tony and Grandpa Antonio!!

It was so hard not to smile when Skylar was around. He was like the sun in the middle of a cloudy sky. He was never mean or judgmental just accepting kind and always had a listening ear. He was such a blessing to all of those that were blessed just to be in his presence. Skylar may be gone but his kind heart and his memory lives on through all that knew him. RIP Skylar??

I was shocked like so many others when I heard about the passing of Skylar. I'm sad that my last time talking with him was back in March. He could literally brighten up any room and always could make me laugh. So funny and so passionate about so many different things. His family and friends are in my thoughts. Fly high Skylar.

Ive had the privilege of knowing Skylar for the past eight months I have lived in DSM. I worked for Milroys before then and had only spoke with Skylar over the phone, but he was definitely much different than any manager Ive ever worked for.
Day one, he asked if I wanted to grab a drink after work. He was never one to keep hot tea to himself, so I quickly learned so much about him, our community, and all the insider info he knew. Skylar loved to know people, and that is evident in the many folks hurt by his absence.
He reached out to me whenever he knew I was going through mental health issues. Skylar made me feel seen and heard on too many occasions to count.
I already miss him tremendously, and I want to send my love to all those Skylar impacted in his too short life. Please, Skylars family and chosen family, let me know if I can help in any way.

There are many heavy hearts since hearing of Skylars passing. He was loved by many because he was so charming and full of life. His smile was everything. He was just beautiful. Im so extremely sorry for your loss. Taken way too soon. May he Rest In Peace.

My condolences go out to Skyler's family and friends he will be missed I am so sorry he was such a wonderful wonderful person I worked with him at the shores he was always polite and helpful to the residents there and to myself I also enjoyed him on Facebook God bless you Skyler
